Our students are taking part in a new Collective Worship initiative, exploring how small acts of kindness can make a positive difference to the lives of others.
Each half term, students will focus on a new theme, working together on a practical activity with a meaningful outcome. Linked to our Christian values and the Church calendar, the initiative will encourage students to think beyond themselves and find ways to support and connect with our wider community.
Our first project, Letters of Hope, sees students creating thoughtful postcards with messages of hope, kindness and encouragement for people in our local community who may be experiencing loneliness or difficult times.
Through these projects, we hope to show our students that even the smallest actions can make a real difference, helping us all to leave a trace of grace in the world around us.
At the end of this half term, we will be inviting members of our local community into school to receive the cards our students have created and share in the positive impact of their work.
We are looking forward to sharing what our students will be exploring and creating through Collective Worship each half term, and the difference their actions can make in the community around us.

We were incredibly lucky to welcome Beth O'Brien, winner of the 2026 Carnegie Medal for Writing, to school for an inspiring morning of storytelling, creative writing and sharing her experiences as an author. Our Year 7 students enjoyed listening to Beth talk about her work and had the opportunity to ask plenty of questions. Students from Years 8, 9 and 10 took part in a creative writing workshop, picking up tips and inspiration for their own writing. Students also had the chance to meet Beth in the Library and have their books signed. A big thank you to Beth for visiting and sharing her passion for writing with our students! #StCuthbertMayne #BethOBrien #CarnegieWinner #AuthorVisit @bethowriter

Happy World Teachers' Day! Today we're celebrating the brilliant teachers who support, encourage and inspire our students every day. We asked some of our students to tell us about just some of their favourite teachers and what makes them stand out. Here's what they had to say... A big thank you to all our teaching staff for everything you do for our students and our school community. #StCuthbertMayne #Educatingforlifeinallitsfullness #CelebratingTeachers #WorldTeachersDay #SecondarySchoolLife
