  • Pupil Premium

The Pupil Premium funding was introduced by the Coalition Government in April 2011 to provide additional support for looked after children and children eligible for free school meals. More recently Pupil Premium eligibility criteria has changed; if in receipt of a qualifying benefit (such as Universal Credit) with a household income of less than £7400 per annum you will most likely qualify for Pupil Premium funding and Free School Meals.

If in receipt of a qualifying benefit (such as Universal Credit) with a household income in excess of £7400, you will most likely qualify for the Free School Meals element only. For further information and to apply to Torbay Council for funding please click here.

Pupil Premium funding is made available to schools to help them narrow the attainment gap that exists nationally between students from disadvantaged and more affluent backgrounds. Once you have received confirmation of eligibility for Pupil Premium please apply for school funding here. Free School Meals will be automatically applied.
