Key Stage 3

• In Years 7 and 8, all students have 4 hours a fortnight, and in Year 9 all students have 3 hours a fortnight, of either French or Spanish.
• We deliver an EPI blended curriculum incorporating sentence builders alongside the French schemes of learning based on Dynamo, or Spanish based on Onda and Viva, both of which are published by Pearson. 
   

Key Stage 4

• Languages are an option at KS4: pupils may study French currently, with the first cohort of GCSE Spanish commencing next year 27/28.
• Pupils have 5 hours a fortnight.
• We follow the Edexcel Syllabus, 2024 specification.
• The GCSE is 100% exam assessed, with 4 separate exam papers in Speaking, Listening, Reading & Writing, and are all evenly weighted at 25% each. Students are entered for either Foundation or Higher tier.
